Krillin (known as Kuririn in Funimation’s English subtitles) is a fictional character in the Dragon Ball manga series created by Akira Toriyama. Krillin, who was often depicted as a comic relief, was introduced in chapter #25 “A Rival? Arrival!!” , which was published in Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine. He posed as Goku’s fellow martial arts student under Kame-Sen’nin, and became Goku’s closest ally and best friend as he fights every villain. Krillin’s whose appearance stays relatively the same for the whole of the series, was first introduced at age 13, with a shaved head, and dressed in the yellow-and-orange clothing worn at the monastery at which he had been training. His nose is not very visible, but shows off the six spots of moxibustion burns on his forehead called jieba, a reference to the practice of Shaolin monks.While on the other side, Android 18 is a human that was turned into a cybernetic android by Dr. Gero with the motive for Goku’s extermination. The two grew close, with majority of the events not shown on the series, and eventually got married and bore a daughter named Marron. Their weird relationship started when Android 18 and her brother, Android 17 was on the warpath and hell-bent on destroying everything in their way, but when Android 18 came across Krillin, she and the other Androids spared him. 18 then gave Krillin a kiss on the cheek for luck before walking away. Although Krillin was scared out of his wits at the time, the kiss lighted up something in him, and made him look at Android 18 in a different way. Even if Krillin knew that 18 was a murderer, this did not stop him from developing a crush on Android 18,despite the fact that she’s an exterminator.
